A lamp unto my feet

An invitation to you to follow the lit up path.

When my son was little, he was playing a game with his toy cars; they were having a race. One of those racing, went and switched the sign around so that he could go in the right direction and lead all of the other racing driver's on a route back to where they had started from, so that he could win the race. I was listening to him call the race. All of the racers followed the turned around sign, except one. I was curious as to why this one racer didn't follow all of the others, and the (now turned around) sign. So I asked my son. His response was, "he followed his (the) map". 

The Bible is our map.

Psalm 119:105 says that the Bible is a lamp to our feet, and a light to our path.

Delightful Magnolias

I invite you to gaze on God's creation.

Formed as a bud,

External peace, such as a ceasefire or a quiet getaway,
Peace that one draws in or draws on, 
And God's peace, the One Who comes to stay.

Many try to create peace,
Retreats, camping, and so on;
While wonderful, they are brief,
Like a fallen leaf.

Call on the Prince of Peace,
Ask Him to come into your life,
Call on Him today;
He is Peace,
Feel His presence this day.

Waterfall: A Love So Deep

Pounding down from above,
Powerful in it's fall;
Deeper than the deep of the ocean,
The waterfall of God's love, is for us all.

Falling from on high,
Cascading to the pool below;
Deeper than any human relationship,
God's love, in every drip.

Smell the mist in the air,
Deeper than the scent of a heady rose;
Surrounding you on every side,
Every ache in your heart, He knows.

The waterfall crashes down,
Roaring loudly,
Soaking all with it's spray;
Saturating from above,
Deeper than we can imagine,
Is God's, waterfall of love.

An Invitation to the Ball

An invitation to you to go to the ball

Does each new day bring dread?
Are you neglected?
Do you feel pain instead of love?
Have you been rejected?

Do you feel hopelessness?
Are you struggling?
Does each day, offer less and less?

Don't despair for there is a carriage that awaits you,

A new creation!

An invitation to hear the story of the caterpillar.

The caterpillar is a loved creature of God's. He created it. 

A caterpillar can only crawl though. It is very limited. The caterpillar, although loved, is not who it's to stay as.

The metamorphosis of a caterpillar to a butterfly is like being baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. The act of going down into the water in being baptized, is actually repenting of our sins and letting go of our old life - we go down as our old selves, and come up out of the water as a new creation in God. 

What emerges after the caterpillar stage is a beautiful butterfly who has gorgeous big wings which enables it to fly. 

Do you feel limited and grounded?

Close Encounters of the Furry Kind...

An Invitation to check out God's wonderful creatures...

A few weeks ago i felt God telling me that i should come to Him, as a little child. This doesn't mean childish, but rather, in wonderment. 

So i asked Him to show me some fun things. Now, i can be quite a serious person, so things really need to be in my face when it comes to fun. Well, God has answered my prayer. Three possums in three days. One at our house and another two at a relative's house. 

Not only that, each possum has been up close and personal. We didn't try and pat them, as they're still wild creatures, but they hung around and were quite at ease in our presence.

Ask God to show you some fun things.

Did you know:

• That there were actually different amounts of animals that were taken on to the Ark in Noah's Day? Seven (7) of every clean animal (a male and his female), and two (2) of every unclean animal. Genesis 7:2

• Do you wonder how Noah and his family would have fed all of the animals for so long? Well, first of all it was an enormous ark. Secondly, the animals at that time, may still have eaten only green herb. Genesis 1:30. Third, God is God, and he provided manna for the Israelites in the wilderness for all of those years, so He could have quite easily replenished the food on board. Genesis 6:21.

• Do you wonder how all of the animals would have fitted? Well, like i said it was an enormous ark, but we need to remember that some of the animals could have been babies or even still in the egg stage. 

• Do you wonder how Noah came to have (get/collect) all of those animals? Well, God brought them to Noah. Genesis 6:20 tells us that God told Noah that these animals would come to him. Can you image waking up every morning and having more animals to get settled into the ark? It would have been quite a process! 

• Now to the last did you know. Did you know that there were actually more animals board the ark than most people believe? We often see pictures in books of the animals boarding the ark, 2 giraffes, 2 elephants, and so on. If we look closely at Genesis 7:2, we read, two each of animals that are unclean, a male and his female, so we automatically assume two unclean animals of every type boarded the ark. However, if we look at the clean animals, we see an odd number.
  
  
  2 giraffes – male and female = (assumed as) 2 giraffes
  7 sheep – male and female = how many sheep? I’d say 14.
  14 actual sheep are actually counted as 7 sheep, because the female is automatically counted as a part of the male – they become one. Genesis 2:24
  
  
  Therefore I believe that 4 giraffes boarded Noah’s Ark – 2 males and their females.
